Diet

Canadian Geese feed in wetlands, grasslands, or agricultural areas (National).

Their diet consists of many things, including grasses, roots, water plants, corn, berries, wheat, small fish, insects, and snails (Kurki).

Predation

4-7 eggs are laid by a goose in the spring, but only 3-4 may survive (Sayre). Predators that eat eggs or chicks include skunks, dogs, foxes, gulls, ravens, bears, snapping turtles, and raccoons (Sayre).

Nests may also be in danger of flooding from rising rivers (Sayre).
